The Acu-Rite 75321RS Wireless Remote Temperature Sensor is used with the Atomix 75320 Worthington Atomic Clock with indoor and wireless outdoor temperature. One 75321RS remote comes with the 75320, and this digital clock can work with up to three of these remotes. On the back of the 75321RS is a removable bracket with a triangular slot for wall mounting via a nail or screw and with a fold-out stand for free-standing use.
The Acu-Rite 75321RS Wireless Remote Temperature Sensor has a silver-tone weather-resistant case. Maximum transmission range of this non-displaying sensor is 100 feet. The included mounting bracket lets you hang the 75321RS on a wall, or you can extend the bracket's fold-out stand and place the remote on a table, shelf, or desk.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the Worthington clock, you install batteries in the clock first and then in the 75321RS. This remote has no channel switch. If you are using more than one 75321RS, you power up and initiate transmission from the 75321RS you want to be Channel 1 by pressing the TX button in the battery compartment. A red LED on the front of the 75321RS lights when transmission is occurring. You then do this for the Channel 2 75321RS and finally for the Channel 3 75321RS (if used).

The temperature measuring range of the 75321RS is +14°F to +122°F (-10°C to +50°C) when equipped with alkaline batteries. Lithium batteries may extend this range somewhat, but we cannot be certain of this.

The 75321RS remote sensor can transmit up to 100 feet (30 meters) in an open area with no interference. Normal walls should not reduce this range by much, but metal and heavy concrete walls can reduce the range significantly. Even though the 75321RS is water-resistant, it is not waterproof and should be mounted in a location where it is protected from direct sunlight and direct precipitation.

For powering, the 75321RS requires two AAA (1.5V) alkaline batteries (not included). Expected battery life is about 1 year. If temperatures are expected to remain significantly below freezing for an extended time, we recommend using lithium AAA batteries instead of alkaline because alkaline batteries can lose power and freeze in cold conditions.

By the way, it's much easier to access and remove the screws (especially the two lower ones) that secure the battery compartment cover if you remove the mounting bracket first. To do this, hold the 75321RS face down in one hand and, with the index finger of your other hand, push the top of the bracket downward so that it slides out of its holder. When you do this, you'll expose an indentation in the case back that lets you easily lift and remove the battery compartment cover.

This remote temperature sensor is ideal for practically any indoor or outdoor application that does not require a probe and a local temperature display on the remote.

Note: The 75321RS that comes with the 75320 Worthington clock has the Atomix logo on its front panel. Additional remotes purchased separately may have the Acu-Rite logo instead (like the ones we currently have in stock). Don't worry. The 75321RS is the same remote regardless of which Chaney Instrument Co. brand appears on the front.
